Health ministers, chief stakeholders and experts discuss the economics of prevention today, just prior the meeting of EU health ministers under Czech Presidency
The Europe´s Beating Cancer Plan, vaccination advocacy or population-based preventive interventions – all these is to be discussed in Prague today by chief stakeholders from several countries who take or influence policy decisions on health risk prevention. The 2nd International Panel of the Conference on Healthcare will finish with a policy debate of invited health ministers who are heading for Prague for an informal meeting organized by the current Czech Presidency of the EU Council.
Other keynote speakers include Reuven Zimlichman from the Tel-Aviv University, Israel, President of the Polish Society of Public Health Andrzej Fal, or President of the Czech Society for Cardiology Aleš Linhart. The positions of public health institutes will be presented by the director of Gesundheit Österreich Herwig Ostermann, Chief Medical Officer of Slovakia Ján Mikas, or Senior Researcher from the Norwegian Institute of Public Health Karl-Erik Lund. The importance of an interdisciplinary approach in prevention will be discussed by national anti-drug coordinators Piotr Jablonski from Poland and Jiří Vobořil from the Czech Republic.
The event will finish with a policy debate of several invited EU health ministers who meet in Prague the next day at an informal meeting organized by the current Czech Presidency of the EU Council.

The international panel, organized by a Czech online public health media Zdravotnický deník, provides – already for the second time – a unique opportunity for a meeting of chief stakeholders who take policy decisions on health risk prevention as regards its health, organisational, educational, social as well as economic aspects. Its aim is to provide an overview of the most effective prevention policies in healthcare with the largest possible impact on population health and financial sustainability of health systems from an international perspective.
The conference language is Czech, Slovak, German, and English. The event will be live-streamed via the Czech News Agency, News Agency of the Slovak Republic, and Austrian Press Agency APA.
